WHERE TO BEGIN...Podcasts & Books
When I first began my journey into understanding myself and the world around me I had no idea where it would lead me. But, something in me knew I needed to change. I felt that I was doing all the things I was supposed to do, and yet I wasn't feeling good. Not only did I feel bad about myself and the way I treated people (especially those I loved), but I started to really resent the constant busy, the never-ending hamster wheel, and the striving for whatever next thing would make me happy.
Among other things (like meditation and saying "no" to things), podcasts were a road in for me. They opened my mind to new ideas and ways of seeing the world. And, I could fit them into my busy life (unlike reading a book or going to a retreat). They filled me up and sparked my curiosity unlike anything else. Because of that, I have compiled a few playlists on Spotify of my favorite podcasts that both got my journey started and continue to expand me today.
If you are wondering where to begin, podcasts are an easy starting place. Let your curious heart lead you.
Books have also been super helpful to me. I didn't have much time in the beginning, so podcasts felt easier to start. But, often times a podcast led me to want to read more about that topic or person, and that was another road in. I have compiled a list of some of my favorite books along my journey thus far.
